The Amalfi coast

During a recent trip on the Amalfi coast, I painted most days in a watercolour sketchbook, the landscape is just BLUE. The most relaxing colour. Here is a painting that I did on my recent return; la terrazzo di Capri oil on Canvas 72 x 97 cm the sun was setting on the terrace by the funicular.

one day workshop 'painting the portrait and the figure

I have some places left on my workshop " the portrait and figure"
I will be demonstrating in the morning with a limited palette of
Titanium White, Cadmium red light, Yellow Ochre and Ivory Black.
I will be showing how to simplify the face and break it down into simple parts.
Judging and seeing tones and using a limited number of Values.

It is often interesting to see unfinished pieces to see how they are done.

Nude

This nude measures 35 x 45cm. It is painted in my studio with a limited palette; Titanium White, Ivory Black,Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Yellow Ochre and a touch of Ultramarine.
